Twilight Movie Review

*What a Relief!*

I do have to say that the movie was not disappointing at all. I enjoyed the full two hours of the movie and highly recommend it to everyone. Now that I have that out of the way....

The beginning of the movie was a little scary. The first half hour or so was filled with bad acting and true laugh out loud cheesiness. I was really worried that the rest of the movie was going to be this way. I think I might have fainted just because I was holding my breath waiting for it to get better. The whole scene where Edward first 'smells' Bella is HILARIOUS! In the book the scene was very tense and for those of you who have read Midnight Sun, you know that it was a very dangerous and serious moment. So you can see why I was really really disappointed with that scene and how it was portrayed.

After the initial teen awkwardness of first meeting was over the movie picked up much better after that. I have to go on record to say that the best actress in the movie is the gal who plays Rosalie. She played a small part but she really did the best.

Kristin Stewart (Bella) played the part really well, but her acting skills leave much to be desired, I think. In certain parts, she either overacted or not acted enough. Physically she did a great job (i.e. falling, tripping, doe-eyed).

Rob P. (Edward) truly impressed me (other than the scene mentioned above). I thought his casting was the worst and actually turned out very good. He played the inner turmoil thing very well but he was part of the cheesiness in the beginning.

OKAY moving onto my favorite part....the kissing scene. Yeah......that was HOT so hot that John had to recreate the scene for me. It was hot all around. The whole slow kiss then the throwing on the bed...*shiver** But you guys have to experience that on your own! I do have to say that the theater was extremely quiet during that part, really quiet :)

All in all, the movie was definately worth the wait and the $8 for the ticket and the $20 I will be paying for the DVD. :)

Go watch it!

Let's get to the ROOT of the Problem!

So we shelled out the moolah and paid for a plumber. Turns out we would have never been able to fix this problem ourselves. They used an electrical rodder and put in at least 75 feet of rod through the sewer line and pulled out ROOTS! Stinkin' bushes is what I say. Apparently the roots were clogging up our sewer lines. We now have to dump some root killer in our lines at least every 4 months. Bummer-but whatever helps, I guess.

But at least that problem is behind us and we have the weekend to look forward too - problem free! Yipee!

I'm out.

CRAP! No really...

so are fargin sewer line decided to go on strike. Really sometimes owning an old home can be such a pain in the tookus.

We come home on Sunday night and I go down to start laundry, well John goes down the basement with me. We immediately smell something foul afoot! (heehee, had to throw that one in). He turns on the light and there is sewer water all over our floor but just on one side of the basement, thankfully.

Welp, the famous Craig temper got the better of him and my ears are still burning. So we had to do the unthinkable and head over to Barsema (where they have nice bathrooms) to do our business that night. Trust, John was NOT happy. Neither was I, but I can deal.

I got the good old steel tape from the City to try our luck unplugging it ourselves last night. Yeah...that didn't work. So I think we are going to have to pony up some hard earned dough and pay a plumber. We are going to try one more thing and pray that it works first. Hopefully it will work so I can bleach the hell out of our floor (not looking forward to that either).

Yuck!

The Week After

We are back from our honeymoon!

The weather was beautiful, the flights were not delayed, and we didn't get sunburnt! Woohoo!!

All in all, it really was the perfect vacation. We went parasailing, kayaking, snorkeling, swimming, rode a banana boat (see picture down below). I don't have pictures as of yet, but I will soon. I will try that new Snapfish thing so everyone can see them all. There are too many to post!

It was so blasted hot down there that we essentially in a pool/beach for 85% of the time down there! Luckily for me there weren't any jellyfish or sharks nearby :) There were however, my to John's chagrin, geckos, lizards, iguana running rampart down there. Much to my chagrin, there were also moths the size of Timbuctu as well. Not cool.

The locals were very nice, as always ;) and the drinks were good too! I had never drank so many pina coladas and tequila sunrises in my entire life! Honestly.

I hope everyone had a good week. And now that things are back to normal-I will try to keep posting and entertaining you all!

I'm out...for now.

Bachelorette Countdown

I get a voicemail from my friend Mary, it went a little something like this:
'Wooo, countdown begins! I'm so excited! A couple more day! (more screaming)'

And I think to myself, 'Aww she is counting down to the wedding. How thoughtful.' But in her next breath, she screams-'BACHELORETTE PARTY here we come!' and then clicks off.

Yeah my thoughts exactly MerBer.

Wedding Etiquette

Okay what do you do if a distant relative that is invited to your wedding, decides to invite her other grown children and their whole families?

Here's the story. I sent an invite to a close family friend a did put on the invite "The Smith Family" and sent it to their home address. They have two children living at home with them, so I naturally assumed that those two children are invited. Therefore, when I get the RSVP, after the cutoff date, mind you, she puts down that they are coming and there will be 8 (yes 8) in their party. I was like 'Whoa Nelly'. John was like WTF??? It turns out that the Smith's assumed that we naturally meant their whole friggin family.

If I had wanted to include her other son(s) and their families, I would have sent them an invite to their home yes?

Thoughts?

I delicately told her that since I didn't have her RSVP, but had verbally told me she was coming, I had put her down for 4 as a yes. I apologized for the confusion and hoped that she would understand.

What would you have done?

Another Try

Couple more weeks until the wedding!! I am driving myself mad with craziness. My mind is such a busy place to be right now. I have all these thoughts on what to do, what I want to do, what I haven't done and what I should do. So this weekend again, flew by. On Saturday, or as I will call it 'Sex Day'. John and I attended the Family Planning Seminar for the wedding requirement of the Church. It was a great three hour session on why contraception is bad and how to plan our family using the 'rhythm method'. Holy Jeebus, I think John learned a little bit too much of the female monthly cycle. He kept glaring at me as if to say that he would happily kill me right now. His eyes especially bugged out when our speaker talked about how our mucus needs to be clear, sticky and thick for us to be considered fertile...yeah...

So after that incredibly informative session. I went to Kathy's sex toy party...needless to say I was not feeling to sexy after our morning session on mucus. But I tried, it was especially fun holding the 'wobbler rabbit' in my hand while I pondered the meaning of safe sex, without condoms or other contraceptives.

I decided to take Sunday off and not talk about wedding, church, sex, mucus or wobbler rabbit.
