Down the hill, no end in sight

I'm sure you guys have all seen our wonderful U.S. markets go downhill and for quite some time. Initially everyone had thought that the market may have bottomed out a couple weeks ago and we were all just testing out the bottom. Unfortunately, as you saw yesterday that is totally not the case.

Sadly, I personally think the markets won't recover until next summer. If you guys have any questions or concerns feel free to contact your investment representative or give me a call and we can chat about it.

Due to the limitations on my license, I can't really write about it, but I want to let you guys know that I am always available for questions or concerns. :)

Hopefully you guys are in a position where you can ride this whole mess out.

Debate

Did anyone else watch the debate last night? I watched the last 15 minutes of it, unfortunately. I thought that they had the debate on foreign policy last week? They were recapping a lot of what they had talked about in the last debate. Well at least the last 15 minutes of it.

If they had drifted with the questions, then Tom Brokaw did a bad job! It seemed towards the end Obama was a little unsure of his words because he kept stuttering. McCain seemed really strong on his proposed foreign policies (experience?).

Anyhoo, I did read on MSN that McCain proposed a bailout of the homeowners.....WTF? Is he really bribing the American people with $300 billion dollars in order to vote for him? Since I didn't see that part (which I would kill to see it now), I am not sure what Obama's reaction to this was.

All I can think of (for the reason for this bribe) is that McCain is losing voters completely and has decided to throw caution to the wind! So really what he is saying is that 'Vote for me and I can solve your housing problem?'. If that isn't a sorry excuse for a vote, I don't know what is.

Any thoughts on this?

Market Crazi-ness!

Whoa Boy,

what is going on with all this market craziness?? The market is down another 200 points today and this is really driving me up the wall. I really think sometimes that for all that people say they are a 'savvy investor' they are lying to themselves. Honestly why are people panicking? They are adding fuel to the fire. Yes, so the government bailed out Fannie, Ginnie and AIG (thank GAWD). Yes Merrill was bought by BOFA, yes Lehman was sectioned off by Barclays. I get it. The big dogs are in the hole. BUT during tough times like this, this process is called 'weeding'. The market truly is weeding out the weakest players in our economy.

I know these companies are huge and have been in business for decades. But really? The mighty have to fall to make wave for true honest businesses. People are watching the news too much. I had a client call the other day and use the words 'The Depression', I was like 'Oh no he didn't'. Look at the basic numbers. In 1929, on Black Monday and Tuesday the market fell over 23%! 23%! And we are panicking because the market fell 4%? Come on. Relax.

Relax and know that Barack Obama will rule and all will be well in the land of America! ;)
